CHARLESTON, WV — The West Virginia Capital Access Program (WVCAP) approved a loan of $17,125 for The Adventure Guild Game Shop, a tabletop game store in Tucker County.
Located in a currently vacant building on Front Street that formerly housed the Miner’s and Merchant’s Bank, the business will offer a unique gaming and educational opportunity for customers, providing safe and fun social activities to locals and tourists alike. The business will provide board and trading card games for sale, offer opportunities to rent and play games before purchasing them, and space to rent tables for game playing.
“Businesses like The Adventure Guild Game Shop contribute to both business prosperity and the revival of small towns with engaging activities,” said Andy Zulauf, Executive Director at the West Virginia Jobs Investment Trust (WVJIT). “WVCAP funding can help turn historic buildings, that would otherwise go unused, into hubs of excitement and community interaction.”
WVCAP provides West Virginia small businesses with debt or equity capital to expand and create jobs. WVCAP is designed to assist credit-worthy companies that may not fit traditional lending models. WVCAP is administered by WVJIT.
